Well folks, I just got back from Dan's show at the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA. It was surprisingly much better than I thought it would be. The new Lickettes were in the groove, singing well, and putting on a well-coordinated act with Dan. The guys in the band were all accomplished musicians, and they swung. They didn't slavishly emulate the old songs, but put their own spin on them, which is fine. Dan was fun to watch, and in good voice.

I met the man afterward, and my wife took a picture of us.

Meanwhile, here's the song list:
Shootin' Straight
Chatanooga Choo-Choo
Payday Blues
Somebody Tell Me the Truth
Where's the Money?
Strike While It's Hot
Wild About My Lovin'
Capo On My Brain
Hell, I'd Go
I Scare Myself (wonderful version -- lots of jammin'...)
Instrumental medley: Topsy and Swing 42
The Piano Has Been Drinking
The End of a Love Affair
I Don't Want Love
Encore:
Long Comma Viper
Milk Shakin Momma
Extra Encore:
The Buzzard Was their Friend.

Great time! Good music!
