DAN IN ASCAP ROSEMARY CLOONEY TRIBUTE
MUSIC INDUSTRY HEAVIES TURN OUT IN TINSELTOWN
Dan and Lickettes Susan Rabin & Annabelle Cruz were among the stars who came out in Hollywood on February 12 2003 to pay tribute to the late, great songstress Rosemary Clooney. The event was held at the Bevery Hilton Hotel as a part of ASCAP's West Coast Convention. Other performers for the evening were Michael Feinstein, Patti Austin, and songwriting legends Hal David, Alan & Marilyn Bergman, and Cy Coleman. Dan and the Girls performed their take on Clooney's classic 1951 hit "Come On-a My House". Reports are that Dan and the Lickettes thoroughly delighted the glittering crowd, especially after a technical glitch in the Girls' microphones gave Dan an opportunity to rap to the audience...as only Dan can.
DAN-TUNES ON TUBE
Dan's music has recently been featured on two popular television shows!
The first season of the MTV hit show "The Osbournes" featured "I Got Mine" (Alive & Lickin') in a segment where Ozzy is jetting away on a promo tour. Three other tunes were also licensed for use on "The Osbournes" – "My Cello", "Wild About My Lovin'", and "Four Or Five Times". Fox TV's clever - yet cancelled - series "Andy Richter Controls The Universe" played "Shorty Falls In Love" (Where's The Money?) in several episodes.
