As the story goes, Dan had collaborated with "Fritz the Cat" creator Ralph Bakshi on music for a new animated feature film. Although the film didn't happen, Warner Bros. released this album of songs written for the project, with cover art in Dan's inimitable style, and his "alternate" plot for the film detailed in the liner notes. The songs range from tunes that would have fit on a Hot Licks album, to "action" soundtracks performed with kazoos, to a delightfully jazzy turn on "Cloud My Sunny Mood". Also notable is Dan's rendition of a 1930s romantic croon, "Garden In The Rain". "IHOB" was initially made available on CD in 2000 through a Japanese release. In late 2001, Rhino Records (Warner Special Products) released the Widescreen Editon of "IHOB" on CD. The Widescreen Edition brought to light a previously unreleased group of tracks which were recorded at the Record Plant in Sausalito, California, in 1976. Joining Dan, Maryann Price and John Girton for the session were Jeff Neighbor on bass, Mitch Woods (who opened for Dan at his 60th Birthday Bash) on piano, and Bob Scott ("Last Train To Hicksville"; Bayside Jazz) on drums. Dan's takes on standards, such as "It's Only A Paper Moon" and "Lulu's Back in Town", are jazzy, uninhibited, and sometimes hilarious.
